The Zombie Family by NiftyNautilus
The Zombie Family
Before you ask me about this one, check out the PvZ Beta Page on the wiki.
The zombie on the left is the standard zombie that we all love (to hate?), perhaps, but the woman zombie in the dress who looks an AWFUL lot like Catapult Zombie in drag is an early concept that was going to be in the game (her weapon of choice is a rolling pin, according to the picture) and her name was "Mother Zombie". She was going to be a miniboss, but they scrapped her for some reason. (Crushing plants with a rolling pin?! I can see it now...)
The two little pipsqueaks are the also-unused Zombie Kids. IDK what they were supposed to do or what they were called, but they were too cute not to draw a fanart of. Maybe they were early Imps, but they replaced them with Imp because having little zombie 6-year-olds would be a bit controversial, don'tcha think? I want to draw more fan art of them, and have decided to nickname them either Zombie Twins, or individually, Zombie Boy and Zombie Girl. If anything, they remind me of the twins from the Haunted Mansion graveyard queue a little.
The bulldog, or Zombie Dog, was going to be in the game, too, but since I had this random idea to draw Zombie, the Little Zombie Twins, and Mother Zombie as a family for some reason (I may have gotten my idea for this one from the undead family in The Nightmare Before Christmas...), I wanted to draw him in here. Actually, he is walked by his zombie master, who I did find a picture of after I made this. (He has a sweatshirt, I think.) I may draw them soon.
Anyway, random idea aside, enjoy! :D
Rosario by NiftyNautilus
Yaaaaay! My first digital drawing that isn't ugly! I haven't learned shading EXACTLY, but I think it's not bad for a first try.
(Just to let you know, more than a few tears were shed when this thing was finished.)
Madame Papadopoulos by NiftyNautilus
Madame Papadopoulos
This is Madame Papadopoulos, a minor character on The Jitterbugs. She and Mr. Jovian (Jupiter's father) both have a chair on the Orange Blossom City Council.
She was born in Greece, and her first name is actually Vasilliki. However, she moved to Orange Blossom when in her early twenties. Interestingly enough, that was where she also picked up her fascination with hats. Madame P was married for a few years before her husband met his untimely end in an accident involving nail clippers and a toaster (she DOESN'T like to talk about it) and has no children. Her personality can best be described as aloof yet often worried.
Whoa There, Amore... by NiftyNautilus
Whoa There, Amore...
Most lulzy thing to happen in my comic, The Jitterbugs. Be careful where you fall, Amore! :D
Foreground (left to right): Umbrella, Amore, Jupiter, Wendy (back of head), Opus, Yucky
Background (left to right): Tognina Rothblatt, Leon Jafferjee, Ollie Arkwright, Zsa-Zsa Starbeam, Ivana DeWitt, Yoko Ukita, Hugo First, Sidwell McGoggins, Cyrus Pforzenheimer
A Cute Couple by NiftyNautilus
A Cute Couple
A sweet little request for PrincesseKitCat. She wanted me to draw Cody (human!Cabbage Pult) with her FC, Apple Pult, humanized. She wanted me to also revise my original one to make her less tomboyish, slightly chubbier, and with brown hair. I think this turned out pretty well.
I have a feeling that this journal might be a little controversial. :(
First off, I once read a fashion magazine for teenage girls (I used a picture of a bracelet in it as part of a collage for 2D Art earlier this year), and it made me feel angry inside because the writing style of the magazine assumed that all teenage girls were materialistic and that their only purpose was so that guys could ogle at them. You know what's wrong with this? We like to think of our society as better off that it was 3,000 years ago, yet there still exists the whole perception of females as just being there to be "sexy" or whatever. I'm not saying that being beautiful or wanting to be beautiful is some eeeeeevil crime like most people who want to counteract this viewpoint think, but I do think that beauty should be what it is-subjective-and that you do not need to change what you like to do with your clothes and hair to please others.
I don't need to be sexy. When you look at me, I want you to see my quirkiness. I want to evoke a quirky appearance to coincide with my personality. I don't care if anyone thinks it's "sexy" if I have a "trendy" type hairstyle or outfit-I just want to be me. People should dress how they feel is right for them and not just do whatever everyone else is doing. Is it bad to like something that's in style? No. But doing something just to fit in if it ignores your personal preferences about clothing and self-expression is dumb. The world needs those of us willing to do that-as hard as it is, this is a cookie-cutter world and it gets old fast.
Back to what I was saying-striving to be "sexy" and nothing else goes with negative stereotypes of either gender. On the female side, it reinforces the negative perception of women as being objects, and on the male side, it reinforces the negative perception that all men want to do is stare at said females.
Men and women think differently, but after 3,000 years, we need to know that the genders are equally human and deserve equal respect. That saying "I want a son and then a daughter so the son can protect her"? Not neccessary. People should teach their children, male or female, to stand up for themselves and to protect themselves. People should also teach them to respect the body of the opposite sex and that a human is a valuable creature capable of much more than being used in…that way. True, the ugly tints of gender inequality still linger after the said thousands of years, but if we make a conscious effort to avoid thinking this way and to teach our children that, we can try our best to get rid of them.
I'm sorry to rant in the Journal. This is something that really angers me about peoples' perceptions of the genders, and that I wanted to say how I feel.

*puts on phony Plugsy voice* How do youse do? :)
Just so yas know, I prefer to call myself Emma S. (my Internet nom de plume) online, as to protect my privacy. It's really important to me that I stay safe online. :)
Hi, I'm the last person on Earth to use colored pencils instead of a computer to draw and color. So, I guess my gallery is kind of like the place you go when you're tired of the absurdly impressive anime/dragon/MLP/other digitally-done paintings that hog the front page. You can take a look around here; I warn you, I don't really draw anything impressive or popular, but I promise you that you'll find something you like in my gallery.

Nifty's FAQ

Q: Are you a mean person?
A: No. I'm usually kind, I try not to be rude, and I'm very sensitive, but get me mad, and I will erupt like Kilauea.

Q: What are some of your pet peeves?
A: Getting flamed, overly romantic drooling fangirls that slash every single character, and getting a bunch of deviations in my mailbox when I just commented on a lot of people's artwork.

Q: Do you support any fandom couples?
A: Nope. Well, if they're already dating/married in the canon, yes. Fanmade? No.

Q: What's your favorite Pokemon?
A: Chandelure.

Q: Fine then, least?
A: Eevee.

Q: Are you normal?
A: Normal is just a setting on the dryer.

Q: Innie or outie?
A: Bro, I'm always IN.

Q. Orientation?
A: Straight, although I tend to fall for boys I barely know.

Q: Do you take requests?
A: It depends on the request. If it's something that relates to a fetish, then I probably won't. If not, I'll have it done in maximum two weeks.

Q: What's your favorite TV show?
A: Invader Zim. ALL HAIL ZIM!

Yes, I am a fan of The Brave Little Toaster. Yes, I make plushies of minor TBLT characters. Believe it or not, I actually hate most modern cartoons, except for Zim, old Phineas and Ferb, and old Spongebob, but I do like many cartoons such as The Powerpuff Girls, Tiny Toon Adventures, The Jetsons, Disney movies, and My Little Pony (Friendship is Magic).
I am a 'toon addict, as you can see, but I mostly like the older cartoons that you can only watch on Boomerang or YouTube because they're generally cooler and funnier. Today's "LOL pie" jokes and toilet humor kind of repel me.
I spend a lot of time drawing cartoons of my own, as you can see, and my style is basically realistic proportions/anatomy, but the character has a more cartoonish face and hands as well as a slightly enlarged head (by this I mean about as wide as the torso, usually) and I often give my characters pencil necks. I don't really like the geometric style found in so many modern cartoons, and prefer to let the art "breathe" a little.
Many of my OCs have hair or skin colors that are not found in nature. Ever. This is because I think that the characters look cool that way. Drawing awesome technicolor people is the way I roll.
I'm generally kind of silly sometimes, but offline I'm kind of shy. It's not really easy for me to have conversations face-to-face.
I used to be really into anime, but I'm not into it as much as I used to be because of all the yaoi fangirls slashing everybody and screaming "KAWAII!" all the time. That, and live-action shows are hard for me to pay attention to, so cartoons are more of my kind of thing.
Please don't beg me to support your shippings. I hate those things, as you guys know. I also don't like "First Comment!" posts or chain mails. so please keep them away from me.
I also find it rude when you send me your artwork through notes if I already watch you. I'm going to notice it, obviously, so I'd prefer you not do that.
However, feel free to ask me questions. I ain't going to cuss you out or troll you or anything like that. :) I may be a little bonkers, but I don't bite.
By the way, I also have a penchant for pink tricycles. And socks with Pikachu on them. And tribal masks. And big hairstyles. And old music. And reptiles. And scented hand sanitizer. And animated movies that nobody watches anymore that are always direct-to-video. And weird trivia that you find in Time magazines. :D
Quotes of Mine:
"Remember kids, if you want to stay healthy, eat plenty of fruits and veggies, drink plenty of water, and don't listen to Miley Cyrus."
"The universe is constantly expanding. However, my trust of it is going the other way."
"I don't have OCD. I just need everything to be perfect, that's all."
"When I asked for baloney, I didn't mean yaoi!"
"A 'u mad bro?' a day keeps everyone away."
"Don't do drugs. Watch old cartoons instead." (They're addicting.)
Favorite color: PURPLE!!!
Favorite Food: Pizza
Fears: High speeds (why I never go on roller coasters w/ drops), losing my loved ones, super-duper-X rated intense blood, failure, teenage boys (well, most of 'em), getting lost
Things I can't do at all: sing, juggle, algebra, watch Nick Jr., make my hair stay in place whenever I try to make it look at least decent, listen to rap, dance, wear blonde wigs, go a day without talking about cartoons or animals, listen to dubstep music, and understand "shipping".
My Likes: Cartoons (mostly older ones), weird trivia, some Internet memes, creepy-crawlies, Pokemon, old commercials, getting comments on my artwork, dinosaurs, non-princess/CGI Disney movies, Celtic music, purple eyeshadow, disco music, stamps, musical soundtracks, obscure old books, Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, bubblegum-flavored toothpaste, birds, sea creatures, dancing around in my room, purple, animated Tim Burton movies (like the Nightmare Before Christmas and Frankenweenie), yogurt, humorous artwork (as long as it's not sexual or racially insensitive), wind-up phonographs, and drawing. Oh yeah, and cool creepy stuff.
My Dislikes: Internet trolls/other mean people, swearing, violence IRL, Twilight, Justin Bieber, Happy Tree Friends, grody public restrooms, macaroni and cheese, rule 34, sleeping, crowds, algebra homework, getting more faves than comments, and immature teen boys.

To tag a quality deviant: And you’re it! Quality doesn’t mean that you have a lot of followers, or a lot of messages. It means that you’re nice to other people, and you deserve to be happy. If you get this message, someone is telling you that they love you as you are, and they don’t care how many followers you have. Send this to the deviants who deserve it. If you break the chain, nothing will happen. But it’s just good to let someone know that you love them! Glomp!
